2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles

89 Points, International Wine Review
"Inky ruby. Oak-spiced aromas of dark berry compote, cherry-cola and licorice, with slow-building smokiness and a hint of vanilla. Lush, palate-coating blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors are complemented by notes of sassafras and candied rose, picking up spiciness with air. Finishes broad and sweet, with lingering mocha and oak spice qualities and supple tannins." —Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Review

The dark opaque ruby color gives a good indication of the level of extraction achieved in this wine. The nose is heavy with dark fruits and essential oil of spring flowers. This is followed by strong varietal flavors of dark chocolate, cassis and spice. Full, round tannins produce a rich chalky finish. While very rewarding to drink now, will easily cellar for up to ten additional years.
