2020 Estate Cabernet Franc

The 2020 Cab Franc is our first single varietal bottling of Estate grown Cabernet Franc since 2007. In 2016 we planted a second block of Cabernet Franc, doubling our yield and allowing us to produce individual bottlings when the quality calls for it. This bottling is a blend between our older Block 3 and younger Block 22 Cab Franc. The older vines produce a more restrained and elegant wine, with lighter color and texture, yet full of spicy tannin. The younger vines currently produce a more full throated, deeply colored Cab Franc full of ripe red fruit and round juicy tannin. By combining these elements, this produces a more all encompassing expression of the varietal and shows the true potential of our Estate.
